Innovator Founder Programme

Frequently asked questions.

Answers to the questions founders most commonly ask before joining the Innovator Founder Programme: how the methodology works, who it is for, how it prepares you for endorsement, and what you leave with at the end of the eight weeks.

Category 01

The programme experience and methodology

The Innovator Founder Programme is not a document-writing service. The IFP is designed to develop the founder and the venture together. Rather than outsourcing your application to a consultant, you build the business case yourself through structured guidance, mentoring, investor exposure, and live feedback mapped directly to the Innovation, Viability, and Scalability criteria used by endorsing bodies.

Experiential means learning through application rather than passive content consumption. Each week combines live workshops, mentoring, venture-building exercises, strategic reviews, peer discussions, and practical founder work on your own business. You will regularly present, defend, refine, and develop your venture under real-time feedback.

The programme is designed around both. Structured sessions provide the frameworks, mentorship, and strategic guidance, while a significant portion of the work involves applying those concepts directly to your own venture between sessions. The goal is not theoretical learning, but measurable venture progress each week.

Founders should expect a meaningful and intensive commitment throughout the eight weeks. This includes live online sessions, mentoring, collaborative work, and independent venture development. The programme is designed for founders who are prepared to engage seriously with building an endorsement-ready venture.

The discovery call is a structured conversation with the Infinitum team to explore your venture, your goals, and whether the programme is the right fit for your stage and ambitions. It is also an opportunity for you to ask detailed questions about the programme, methodology, and application process.

That is completely normal within entrepreneurship and often part of the process. The programme is designed to help founders refine, pressure-test, and strengthen their ventures. Many successful founders evolve aspects of their positioning, commercial model, or market focus during the programme.

Cohorts are intentionally kept small to allow for meaningful interaction, mentoring, and personalised feedback. The founding cohort is limited to five founders, enabling meaningful access to faculty, mentors, and programme leadership throughout the eight weeks.

Following the Full Application stage, successful applicants are typically informed within approximately two weeks. As the cohort size is intentionally limited, each application is reviewed carefully before final decisions are communicated.

Founder eligibility, fit, and selection

The programme is best suited to founders building ventures with genuine innovation potential, commercial ambition, and scalability within the UK market. This includes technology-enabled ventures, platform models, deep-tech, creative industries, impact ventures, and other businesses capable of demonstrating innovation and growth potential.

Yes. The programme is international by design and welcomes founders from diverse backgrounds and markets. Founders should be comfortable participating in discussions, presentations, and workshops conducted in English.

The programme is not designed for applicants seeking only a document-writing service or a guaranteed endorsement outcome. The IFP is an intensive founder-development programme that requires active participation, commercial maturity, founder readiness, strategic engagement, and a serious commitment to building a scalable UK venture.

Founders are expected to take ownership of their venture throughout the programme, including the development of their business case, market strategy, financial thinking, and endorsement readiness. The programme is best suited to founders prepared to engage deeply with the process rather than delegate it entirely to others.

Yes. Many founders join with existing materials, draft applications, or partially developed ventures. The programme can help strengthen, refine, and pressure-test existing work while improving founder readiness and strategic clarity.

Category 03

Endorsement readiness and the IFV process

Most founders join before selecting an endorsing body, though both situations are possible. The programme is designed to strengthen the overall quality of the venture and founder readiness first, while helping participants better understand the endorsement landscape as the programme progresses.

Please note that Infinitum Education is not an endorsing body or visa-granting authority. Endorsement and visa decisions are made independently by the relevant bodies and authorities.

Throughout the programme, founders repeatedly present and defend their venture under live questioning, including strategic reviews, investor discussions, pitch sessions, and mock endorsement interviews. By Week 8, founders have already experienced many of the same pressures and challenges encountered during real endorsement interviews.

Yes. While Infinitum Education is not an endorsing body, the programme helps founders understand the differences between endorsing bodies, their positioning, and potential suitability depending on the venture, founder profile, and business model. The final decision regarding endorsing body selection rests with the founder.

The programme is designed to strengthen founder readiness and submission quality, but endorsement decisions are made independently by endorsing bodies. Where appropriate, feedback and guidance may still be provided following programme completion to help founders understand next steps and areas for improvement.

In circumstances where a founder wishes to pursue a revised or resubmitted application requiring substantial additional support or advisory work beyond the original programme scope, any such work would be scoped and agreed separately.

No. Endorsement and visa decisions are made independently by the relevant endorsing bodies and UK authorities. The Innovator Founder Programme is designed to help founders build stronger ventures, stronger submissions, and stronger founder capability, but it does not guarantee endorsement or visa approval.

Faculty and delivery

The programme brings together academics, investors, entrepreneurs, and practitioners connected to leading institutions and global innovation ecosystems. Alongside live teaching sessions, founders receive ongoing access to mentoring, feedback, and interactive discussions throughout the programme.

The in-person sessions are an important part of the programme experience and are strongly encouraged wherever possible. However, we understand some founders may face international travel constraints, and alternative participation arrangements may be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Programme outcomes and founder readiness

The submission pack typically includes the business plan, financial model, investment narrative, pitch materials, and supporting strategic documentation prepared throughout the programme, such as founder CVs, and endorsement-related supporting documents where relevant.

Founders receive feedback from mentors, faculty, and experienced practitioners throughout the preparation process.

The Week 8 pitch competition is a live presentation experience where founders present their venture before a panel of investors, entrepreneurs, faculty, and ecosystem participants. Founders are challenged through unscripted questioning designed to simulate real-world investor and endorsement scrutiny.

Yes. Founders become part of the wider Infinitum alumni network, providing continued access to community connections, future opportunities, and selected ecosystem events beyond the programme itself.

By the end of the programme, founders should expect significantly greater clarity, venture readiness, strategic confidence, and endorsement preparedness. Participants leave with a developed venture narrative, financial model, submission materials, investor-facing experience, and a stronger ability to defend their business under scrutiny.
